We hope that the SAA Awards will not merely serve as an academic event, but also as a platform where the spirit of learning, creativity, and design excellence of architecture students at Parahyangan Catholic University can be tested, celebrated, and appreciated.
We invite all participating students to carry this experience forward—to grow into stronger individuals and to move toward a better future. Congratulations to all participants who have worked hard to reach this point. Let us continue to collaborate in making the SAA Awards even better and in becoming individuals who bring greater impact to the world.
Congratulations to everyone.
Quoted from the opening ceremony of the 44th SAA Awards.
The SAA Awards are established to recognize and appreciate the creativity, innovation, and academic achievements of final-year architecture students. Architecture is not merely the art of building; it is the art of shaping the way we live, interact, and connect with our environment. Amidst the major challenges of climate change, limited resources, and rapid urbanization, we are called to ask: how can we create solutions that are not only innovative and visionary, but also rooted in local wisdom to ensure long-term sustainability.
Through the SAA Awards, we believe many architects will emerge who will bring pride to UNPAR, and this tradition will continue to grow. I hope the SAA Awards will keep innovating and showcasing the best of our students.
Quoted from the opening ceremony of the 44th SAA Awards.
As the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Parahyangan Catholic University, I fully support the 46th SAA Awards as an important platform for showcasing the creative and innovative works of Architecture students. This event not only highlights young talents but also serves as a significant step in their journey toward professionalism, especially with the Architecture Professional Program at UNPAR now available to equip students with the necessary competencies for the industry.
This exhibition provides a space for students to develop their portfolios, refine their skills, and better prepare themselves for challenges in the professional world. The Faculty of Engineering remains committed to supporting student development through excellent academic and professional programs and hopes that this exhibition will inspire more prospective students to join the Architecture Program at UNPAR.
It is an honor to introduce this year’s SAA Awards (Architecture Final Studio Awards) book – a book that displays the exceptional creativity and intellectual growth of our students. As a program, SAA Awards has long been a cornerstone of our department’s design culture, drawing participation from leading architectural practitioners from around the world to recognize and engage with the inspiring works of our final studio cohort.
Architecture, at its core, is not just about the creation of objects; it is about cultivating minds that can think critically and innovate meaningfully. In our department, we value the journey of learning as much as the final product. We aim to nurture students who are not only skilled in design but also capable of reflective thought, able to question conventions, and ready to address complex challenges in the built environment.
This program highlights the importance of process in architectural education. Through the iterative cycle of exploration, trial, and refinement, students gain a deeper understanding of their design intentions and methodologies. This process is as much about charting new possibilities as it is about learning from missteps, allowing students to develop resilience and adaptability—qualities essential in the architectural profession. While we celebrate the knowledge gained in the studio, we also recognize the significant role of real-world experiences in shaping our students. Opportunities like hands-on workshops, site-based projects, and international programs broaden their perspectives and connect theory to practice. However, experience alone is not enough; its value lies in how it informs and deepens critical thinking. Our goal is to foster architects who can blend knowledge and experience to create thoughtful and impactful designs.
The works presented in this book reflect the culmination of our students’ hard work, curiosity, and perseverance. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the awardees and sincere gratitude to the jurors and supporters who have contributed to this celebration. May these achievements inspire future innovation and excellence in architecture.
Peace be upon you.
First and foremost, we praise our God, whose grace enabled us to do good and carry on this Final Studio and this SAA Awards.
Through SAA Awards, we would like to show designs and ideas from the Student Final Project (SAA) at Architecture Department, Parahyangan Catholic University. The intention is to show professional qualities from the students and open ourselves for commentaries and critics, from fellow architects, academicians, students, or colleagues. The award itself pushes students to their competitive nature, to give their best to their abilities.
In the end, we hope that you can enjoy this 46th award rally.
SAA Awards stands as more than a celebration of achievement, it represents the vital bridge between the academic world of architecture and the realities of professional practice. To win is not simply to present an aesthetically compelling design, but to demonstrate clarity of thought, contextual awareness, and the ability to transform innovation into meaningful impact.
